Who am I

Luke Shepherd is a Sole Trader who makes Sculpture. That's me.

I am committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of all visitors to my web site. In particular, I want you to know that I will never sell, rent or trade mail lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. I just don’t do that sort of thing.

Types of data collected

When someone visits www.luke-shepherd or www.portrait-sculpture.co.uk, a third party service, Google Analytics, collects standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. This is done to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. I do not make and do not allow Google to make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting my website.

How do I collect information from you?

I obtain information from you when you register on my website, sign up for my newsletter or if you order products via the website, by email, by phone, fax or letter.
 

How is your information used?

I may use your information to:

  • To help identify you and if you have accounts with me;
  • process orders that you have submitted;
  • notify you when orders have been dispatched;
  • to carry out obligations arising from contracts entered into by you and myself;
  • to provide customer care, including responding to your requests if you contact me with a query;
  • to administer accounts, process payments and keep track of billing and payments;
  • seek your views or comments on the services I provide;
  • notify you of changes to my services;
  • send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you.
  • These may include information about products, newsletters.

I review retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. I am legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil my statutory obligations. I will hold your personal information on my systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with me.
 

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process for my e-newsletter, I collect personal information such as name and email address only . I use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked me to tell you about; to contact you if I need to obtain or provide additional information; to check my records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. I don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

I use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver my newsletter. I gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help me monitor and improve my e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings automatically by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of my emails or by emailing my data protection officer , which is me Luke Shepherd and I'll ensure your information is removed from all my data manually.
 

Access to your personal information

Security

Security precautions are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information.

Should you give me personal information, I take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected with SHA-256 with RSA Encryption. When you are on a secure page, a padlock icon will appear (usually in the web browsers address bar), which you can click on to get security information.

Non-sensitive details (your name and email address etc.) are transmitted normally over the Internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while I strive to protect your personal information, I cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once I receive your information, I make the best effort to ensure it's security on my system. Where I have given (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of the website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. I ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Use of 'cookies'

Like many other websites, my website uses cookies. 'Cookies' are small pieces of information sent by an organisation to your computer and stored on your hard drive to allow that website to recognise you when you visit. I am concerned to protect the privacy of children aged 16 or under. If you are aged 16 or under‚ please get your parent/guardian's permission beforehand whenever you provide us with any personal information.
